Dr. Absy brings over 15 years of profound expertise in optometry and ophthalmology practice, marked by a commitment to providing exceptional eye care. With extensive experience managing a range of complex conditions including diabetes, macular degeneration, retinal diseases, dry eye treatments, glaucoma treatment, and eye infections, Dr. Absy combines cutting-edge technology with compassionate care to enhance patients' quality of life. A graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry, he has been at the forefront of vision health since earning his Doctor of Optometry in 2006. His educational journey also includes a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, underpinning his deep understanding of biological sciences.
Since December 2006, Dr. Absy has served the community of Palestine, TX, where he combining cutting-edge technology with compassionate care to enhance patients' quality of life. His dedication to service is evident from his early career, with valuable experiences at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM, and contributing to the well-being of diverse communities through relief work at EyeMart Express and Walmart.
Dr. Absy's commitment to advancing the field of optometry extends beyond clinical practice. He has participated in notable externships with leading specialists and contributed to impactful glaucoma research. His paper, “The Normal Neural-Retinal Rim,” presented at the American Academy of Optometry 2005 Conference, is a testament to his dedication to research and education in eye health.

As a board member and Chief Volunteer Officer Elect for the YMCA, founder of the FC United Youth Soccer Club, and a proactive member of The Lions and Rotary Clubs, he exemplifies leadership and a commitment to enriching lives. His volunteer work, ranging from vision screenings at health fairs to providing free eye care in Honduras, highlights his belief in accessible health care for all.
